Description
Logitech H540 USB Headset with Noise-Cancelling Mic (Brand New)
Logitech H540 USB Headset (981-000480) – Kenya’s Premium Plug-and-Play Headset for Clear Calls and Rich Audio
Kenyan professionals, students, and remote workers demand a headset that delivers both clear voice quality and enjoyable sound. The Logitech H540 USB Headset (Part Number: 981-000480) meets that demand with premium features and reliable USB connectivity. This wired, on-ear headset combines laser-tuned audio drivers with a noise-canceling microphone and convenient on-ear controls. As a result, it has become a popular choice for everyday communication and multimedia across Kenya. ^E
What Makes This Headset Stand Out?
The H540 is built for immersive audio and effortless calls. Laser-tuned drivers and a built-in equalizer deliver rich, digital stereo sound for music, movies, games, and calls. The noise-canceling microphone minimizes unwanted background noise, so your voice comes through clearly during Zoom, Teams, or Skype sessions. The right-sided mic boom can be positioned for optimal voice capture and tucked neatly inside the headband when not in use. On-ear controls on the right ear cup let you adjust volume or mute instantly without fumbling for on-screen buttons. A visible mute indicator light on the cable confirms when your microphone is muted, helping prevent embarrassing hot-mic moments.
Comfort and Build Quality
Logitech designed the H540 for extended wear. The adjustable headband features soft, padded leatherette ear cups and headband that feel comfortable even after hours of listening. The headset weighs approximately 120 grams, keeping it light on your head. The cable measures 1.8 metres, giving you freedom to move at your desk. A Velcro band attached to the cable keeps it neatly bundled for storage. While the build is primarily plastic, user reviews note the cable is thick and of good quality. Some users mention the on-ear cushions can feel snug after many hours, and those who prefer over-ear designs may want to consider alternatives.
The USB Advantage for Kenyan Buyers
This is the H540’s strongest selling point in the Kenyan market. USB connectivity means true plug-and-play operation. You plug the USB-A connector into your laptop or desktop, and it works immediately on Windows, macOS, or ChromeOS without drivers or software. This eliminates the compatibility headaches that come with dual 3.5mm jacks. However, you should check your device ports. If your laptop only has USB-C ports, you will need a separate USB-C to USB-A adapter, which is not included. Also, the H540 is a stereo headset for calls and media, but it is not designed for immersive gaming or professional music production. Some users note the sound is thin on bass compared to dedicated headphones.
Honest Notes on Noise Cancellation
It is important to set realistic expectations. The H540’s microphone reduces background noise for clearer voice transmission, which is what matters most for calls. However, the ear cushions themselves do not actively block out ambient sound. This is not a noise-canceling headphone in the sense of silencing room noise for the wearer. If you need to mute a noisy office or a busy household while listening, this headset will not do that. For clear voice calls in reasonably quiet environments, it performs well. User reviews consistently praise the microphone quality for voiceovers and online meetings.
